From Witnessing a Friend's Struggle to Building a Lawyer-Led Credit Repair Service
Elisa Rothschild didn't start her career in credit repair because it sounded like a good business opportunity. She started it because she watched someone she loved go through hell — and couldn't stand by and do nothing.
In 2009, Elisa's closest friend Sarah was drowning in debt. A series of unexpected medical bills, a failed business partnership, and mounting credit card debt left Sarah with a credit score of 412, 7 defaults on her credit file, 2 court judgements, and zero hope of getting approved for anything.
"I remember Sarah calling me in tears after being rejected for a car loan. She said she felt like a financial leper. Like her life was over before it had really begun. I'd never felt so helpless watching someone I cared about suffer like that."
But Elisa refused to accept that Sarah's financial mistakes would define the rest of her life.
The Birth of a Mission
Armed with nothing but determination and a burning desire to help her friend, Elisa spent months researching Australian credit reporting laws, privacy legislation, and creditor obligations under the Privacy Act 1988.
What she discovered changed everything:
Most defaults, judgements, and enquiries on Sarah's credit file were either listed incorrectly, breached privacy laws, or violated credit reporting codes.
Word spread quickly. Sarah told friends. Those friends told family. Within a year, Elisa was helping dozens of people fix their credit files — all in her spare time, all for free.
"That's when I realised this wasn't just a passion project. This was my calling."
In 2014, Elisa founded Australian Credit Solutions with a single mission:
