Lawyer-led credit file correction · ASIC ACL 532003

When a deal falls over on a default, we check whether it was even listed lawfully. Then send your client back to you, finance-ready.

We’re a lawyer-led, ASIC-licensed firm (ACL 532003) — not a credit-repair shop. We don’t write loans and we don’t pay referral fees, so there’s no conflict and nothing for you to disclose. We correct what’s wrongly listed, then hand the client straight back to you.

“Will you poach my client?”

No. We don’t write loans. We correct the file and send the client back to you for the finance.

“Is this safe for my licence?”

A referral that genuinely benefits the client can sit within your best interests duty, and because we don’t pay referral fees there’s nothing to disclose. You stay responsible for your NCCP obligations — read the plain-English explainer.

“What if the deal’s due soon?”

Tell us the finance-clause date and we’ll triage it. Files we can’t clear in time become clean pre-approval pipeline you re-engage later.

Just this one client — no account needed. A few quick details, we call them within 24 hours and keep you updated by phone. Want to follow progress yourself? Use Become a partner instead.

The part most brokers don't realise about defaults

When a client gets knocked back over a default, the usual assumption is that they're stuck with it for five years. But a credit provider has to follow a strict process to list one — the right notice, to the right address, for the right amount, at the right time.

When that process isn't followed — and it often isn't — the listing can be removed, regardless of whether the debt itself was real. That's the bit we work on. As a lawyer-led firm, we look at whether the listing was recorded lawfully, not just whether money was owed.

We only act on entries that appear to be listed in breach of the rules — a missing section 21D notice, the wrong amount, a disputed debt, unauthorised enquiries, repayment-history errors or fraud. Correctly listed entries generally stay. We'll tell you honestly, up front, which bucket your client's file falls into.

How the referral works

Three steps. You stay in control of the deal the whole way through.

1

Send us the client

Got a deal that died on a credit issue? Send us the client's first name and roughly what's on the file. We assess it free, usually within 24 hours, and tell you honestly if it's workable.

You stay focused on new leads while we look at the file
2

We do the legal work

If there are grounds, we act on the unlawful listings on a No Win No Fee basis. We keep you and the client updated, so you always know where the deal stands against your finance clause.

Regular updates — no chasing required
3

The client returns, finance-ready

Once the file is corrected, the client comes back to you to write the loan. You keep the relationship and earn your commission. We don't write loans — full stop.

The client was always yours

What partner brokers say

★★★★★
When one of my clients gets knocked back over a default, ACS is the first call I make. They look at the file honestly and tell me straight away whether it's workable — and when it is, the client comes back to me ready to finance. They've never once tried to step on the deal.

We've worked closely with Elisa's team on a number of tricky client files. They're responsive, they keep us in the loop, and they understand we're working to finance deadlines. It's helped clients I'd otherwise have had to turn away.

A note on your obligations

Referring a client for credit file correction can sit comfortably within your best interests duty where the client genuinely benefits. Because we don't pay referral fees, the conflicted remuneration concern doesn't arise — but you remain responsible for your own obligations under the NCCP, including the duty itself, and you should confirm your position with your licensee or compliance adviser. We've written a plain-English explainer on exactly this:

Broker Partner — Frequently Asked Questions

Will you take my client?

No. We don't write loans and we're not a lender — there's nothing for us to cross-sell. Our model is built to send the client back to you, finance-ready, once their file is corrected. You keep the relationship and you write the loan.

Is there anything I need to disclose?

We don't pay brokers a referral fee, so there's no conflicted remuneration arising from referring to us. You remain responsible for your own obligations under the NCCP, including your best interests duty, and you should confirm your position with your licensee or compliance adviser. We've written a plain-English explainer on exactly this.

Can I refer a client without breaching my obligations?

A referral that genuinely benefits the client can sit within your best interests duty. Because we don't pay you to refer, the conflicted remuneration concern doesn't arise. You remain responsible for the duty itself — confirm your position with your licensee or compliance adviser.

What does it cost my client?

We start with a free assessment. It's No Win No Fee — flexible payment plans are available for the client. We give the client their exact cost in writing after we've reviewed the file. The broker isn't paying for anything.

How quickly will I know if you can help?

We assess the client's file for free, usually within 24 hours, and tell you honestly whether there are grounds to act — including when there aren't.

How long does it take?

Reported credit file corrections are often completed in around 30–90 days, depending on the listing and the creditor's response. This is a general indication, not a promise, and it's relevant if you're working to a finance clause or pre-approval expiry.

What's your success rate?

We report a 98% success rate on accepted cases. We only take on files where we believe there are valid grounds, and we decline cases that can't succeed. Outcomes vary and are not guaranteed — no legitimate ASIC-licensed provider can guarantee removal.

Are you licensed?

Yes. Australian Credit Solutions holds Australian Credit Licence ACL 532003 and is a lawyer-led firm operating under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Credit Reporting Code.

What can you actually remove?

Only entries listed in breach of the rules — defaults without a valid section 21D notice, wrong amounts, disputed debts, unauthorised enquiries, repayment-history errors, or fraud. Correctly listed entries generally remain for their retention period.

Which creditors do you cover?

All the major banks and non-bank lenders, telcos, energy retailers, BNPL providers and debt collectors. The Privacy Act grounds are the same regardless of creditor.
